It's here! Classes start today for Level .5 through Level 4. I will be available for questions most of the time and observing all classes today. Please come ready to dance and have a wonderful time meeting your teachers and new dancemates! I can't wait to see you!

It is finally that time of year again! Dust off your dance shoes and get back in the studio. Enrollment for the 2008-2009 Academy Dance Season is open.

Enrollment packets have been mailed out and are available for download off this website if you need one.

Now what?
Bring your enrollment to class on the first day if you do not want to mail it in or drop it by the academy. If you are unsure what classes are right for your student simply shoot me an e-mail and we will figure it out. If you are not sure what your tuition total should be, e-mail me for that too. I will respond to everyone a lot quicker through e-mail.

For those of you who are concerned about the increase in tuition, it is very easy. It is a $5.00 fee tacked on to your regular tuition from last year. One hour of instruction is still $40.00, but the total is $45.00. The fee is per student, not per class.

I am very excited to see you all and a bunch of new faces as well. Start stretching!!!

I know you all are anxious for the schedule and I promise it is coming soon. As soon as it is ready- it will be posted here and the enrollments will be sent out. A class placement list will also be attached. I hope you all have had a great summer!

All ordered photos and dvds from Recital 2008 are ready for pick-up at Imprevio Studios. It is located at 12917 State Line Rd. KC, MO 64145. Look behind Maya's Mexican Bistro (patio area) and there they are. Their hours are Tuesdays- Saturdays from 12:30-6:30. The phone number is 816-942-0799. Thanks!

I have been hearing some question floating around about recital, especially for first-timers.

Here are the most common:
1. Do they have class the week after the recital?
2. Is the fee for may $40.00 as well?
3. Where is the recital and what time is it?
4. When do they get the costumes and do they only use them for the recital or do they have other performances?

Answers:
1. Yes they have class after the recital- we look at recital pictures and parents order while the kids watch the video of the recital.
2. May is full tuition even though some classes will only have 3 classes for the month- but we do not have any recital fees.
3. The recital is at Center High School on Saturday May 17th. We have dress rehearsal that morning from 9-12 and then then they come back at 6:15 for the show at 7! The dress rehearsal is mandatory b/c that is when we take pictures and gets them familiar with the stage, the lights and where they are going to go onstage and backstage.
4. Some costumes have already started coming in, and we should have them all by the middle of April. We will try them on together during class and then they will take them home. There is only one performance and then the costumes get added to your dress-up bin.

I hope this helps anyone else who might have had some basic questions. I will have sign-ups for backstage moms soon, so if you are interested please let me know.

Class Christmas parties will be our last week of classes before break. The combined class party times are listed below:

Level 1 and Level 2: Wednesday, December 19th 5:00-6:00.
Level 3 and Level 4: Thursday, December 20th 5:00-6:30.
Level 5 and Level 6: Tuesday, December 18th 5:00-6:30.
Expression: Wednesday, December 19th 6:30-8:00.

A note will go home about details for gift exchanges and snacks next week!

Thursday's classes this evening- Level 3 and Level 4- will be canceled tonight due to the snowy/icy weather. Please call me if you have any questions and if not, I will see you next week!

Miss Tracie's Classes only this Thursday Nov. 1st and next Tuesday Nov. 6th will be cancelled b/c Miss Tracie will be out of town. See you when I get back!
